Smitty's Music Publishing Co., Inc.: Jeremy Smith Biography

Mr. Jeremy J. Smith, owner of Smitty's Music Publishing Co., Inc. and Smith Studios, grew up in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania. Now attending the University of Oklahoma pursuing his undergraduate degrees in Music Education and Percussion Performance, Jeremy is involved with music every day of his life. He attended high school at Mt. Lebanon Senior High School, and participated in the Marching Band, the Concert Band, the Jazz Band, the Orchestra, the Chorus, and the Percussion Ensemble. In the Marching Band, Jeremy held the position of Percussion Front Section Leader during his junior year, and was the Drum Major/Student Conductor in his senior year. He was the principal percussionist of the Concert Band for three years and the Orchestra for two. In the Mt. Lebanon Percussion Ensemble, he acted as Student Advisor and Director for his latter two years of high school. He was a featured soloist three times with the ensemble, and has arranged several works for them.

In the Pittsburgh area, Jeremy is known for his personality, musicality, and visual nature to his playing. He has played at many local community churches, schools, and around the town for various parties and social events. Jeremy plays drum set regularly for the Beverly Heights Presbyterian Church Worship Band on Sundays, and played Keyboards for the up and coming professional band, Uptown Rhythm and Brass, based in the Pittsburgh region. He is an extremely versatile musician, and a great guy to work with. Second to nothing other than performing music is producing music for Mr. Smith. He created Smitty's Music Publishing Company in the summer of 2001 as a venue for aspiring musicians to receive affordable, yet professional, recording and production services. Outside of music, Jeremy found a home in video production through Mt. Lebanon Television Studios. Acting as technical and artistic directors of their live cable television show, MTLTV Live, Jeremy learned the ropes of the television world, and can now bring you custom videos and video tape production.
